Austria

Last weekend Matt and I got a 3 1/2 day visit from Kim, Matt's mother.

Aren't they cute?

Exactly one year before this trip, Kim was visiting us with Sean, Matt's brother. On top of that, it is also Kim's birthday when she comes for visits. I think this is starting to become tradition.

Anyways, Kim had the idea to go to Innsbruck, Austria this year, a little place tucked in the alps. Matt and I really didn't know much about Innsbruck before we went there, except that it was close to the alps and we would be hiking... We were excited to go, but basically felt the same about the trip as we have every other place. Now having been, I must say that place is hands down the most beautiful place I probably have ever been to. The alps were breathtaking. They are HUGE! It's like nothing I really have ever seen before. Innsbruck itself was awesome too. It wasn't a big city like Munich or London, it was the perfect size with lots of culture, plenty to do, and beautiful buildings. I didn't feel overwhelmed by high prices or lots of tourists. It was just right. So, thanks Kim for wanting to go to such a nice place, I don't know if I will ever go back there but I won't forget it.

Here are some photos (although they really don't do it justice):

updates.

Wow, I really suck at blogging. It's hard to always have the patience to sit and write about what's been happening in my life all the time, it takes enough energy just doing it!

I've officially moved on to level 2 of the 30 day shred. I "accidently" skipped 3 days, and decided my punishment would be to move on to a harder level. It was really rough. I just remember starting at the floor having a really hard time picking my body up after all those planks. At some points I wanted to cry, at some points I wanted to throw up... and I took a couple of breaks, but I did finish. I think I'm going to stick with level 2 because although sometimes I still found level 1 challenging, it was much easier than before and I was really starting to get bored with it. I'm probably not going to get bored with level 2 for a while. I would like to stay on it for at least 10 days. The only thing I'm having a hard time figuring out for myself is if I want to do it everyday or not. I hear it isn't good to work out everyday and that you need to give your body a break sometimes to heal, but that's how my 1-2 day break turned into 3 days and I felt pretty guilty afterwards. Plus, I always feel good when I can say "Wow, I've done this workout for X days in a row now, I'm awesome." When I take breaks, I have to start all over again! I never really get clear answers from other shredders online either, so.... I don't know.

Okay, enough about the shred. My mother in law is coming to Europe in about 9 days, and we will see her around 2 weeks. Hooray! She is flying into Dublin where she will be visiting with her friends the majority of her time spent in Europe, but in between it all she is coming to visit us for a few days and we are going to go to Innsbruck, Salzburg, and to visit the Eagles Nest. All of these things are around the Alps, so I'm expecting it to be beautiful. Pictures will come.

Other things:
-I'm in the middle of making a budget, and it's stressful.
-I just started (again) to play World of Warcraft with my husband. Oh lord.
-I made really good scramby eggs this afternoon... with spinach and jalapenos.
-I'm drinking my coffee black from now on -no calories..(besides Sundays, that's me and Matt's German cafe exploring days.)
-I'm enjoying my Summer class.
-I'm currently on season 2 of Sex and the City and plan to watch every episode.
-I need to take more pictures.
-I need a job.
-I love this guy: :)

imports, weekending, the shred - day 1.

I've imported my wordpress blog to blogger, because I didn't want to start all the way over again. The image sizes from past posts are a little off but I really don't feel like fixing them.

So now I'm back in Germany and so far I'm having a really great time. Even though I do miss my family, I'm really loving and appreciating being able to hang out with my husband everyday. Last weekend we went to Barcelona, Spain! It was so much fun and I think I might try and post about it soon. This weekend was also fun. Friday we got some beer and played Donkey Kong on the Wii all night, then went out with our friend here to the pub and played darts and drank German beer. Saturday we went to Ansbach to the Altstadtfest, which means "Old town fest". Then we went to an Arts and Crafts store, which inspired me to look up some cool craft ideas, and then we ate sushi... soo good. Sunday was also a really good day, we got up and read for a little bit, then walked down to Cafe Bohne for a White Chocolate Macchiato (which was SO good). Then we went for a walk in the park until we were forced to hurry back home from a hail/lighting storm. German weather is crazy, one second it's completely sunny, then it's black outside and hailing like crazy. Here is a weekend recap in photos:

In other news, I'm starting the 30 Day Shred once again. I've taken measurement of my body and before pictures, and I'm debating whether or not to post these bad boys on the internet. I think it would be more of a push factor for me to try harder, but it also might be weird to post.

Anyways, my husband is doing the shred with me! YAY. I like having a work out buddy. I'm determined to finish all 30 days, and if I don't the only reason should be the fact that my mother in law MIGHT be coming to visit in a couple of weeks and we would be out of town.

Anyways, that is my poorly written, rushed, catch up post for the day.

new blog, again.

Now I need to think of a cool name. Although this says Bailey AND Matt's blog, I'll probably be the only one updating. Throughout this blog I want to try and document as much of our travels through Europe as possible.

love notes!

I woke up to this from my husband and it was a good way to start the day off:

"have I told you today how beautiful and wonderful I think you are? No? Well...*spoiler* you are :)

You rock"

Yes, it's true, sometimes he can be really sweet.

So, I have 14 days until the end of the semester, and 15 days until I head back to Germany! YAY. I'm excited to get back there. Matt and I have lots of fun plans for each other and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. Also, when I get there, we are going on a shopping spree to IKEA!! This is awesome because we will finally have a dining room table. Yep, 4 years oh marriage and we still don't have the necessities. Crazy. I'm going to miss this lil chi'llens like CRAZY though... I present the niece and nephew:

Oh, and, in a month... Barcelona! I know Matt and I will have a blast because we are fun people!

study break.

I will be in Germany in less than a month.

I can't wait to see my best friend and and favorite person in the whole world! <3

I'm also looking forward to some German Pizza (the Italian food there is delicious), and schnitzel. A Hefeweizen is probably in order as well. Matt and I decided as soon as I get back we are going to get bikes and ride everywhere. I'm really excited about this, Germany has a lot of bike trails and I think it will be a good way to get/stay in shape.

la lala la la.

I thought I would post some pictures of my favorite two kids in the whole wide world. I will miss them when I leave, again. Sigh. Is it normal to feel completely excited and happy, yet sad about the same thing, at the same time? I'm pretty good at it.

Of course, overall I'm more excited about leaving than I am sad about it, but I'm big on family and probably overly sensitive, so no matter how ecstatic I will be the day at the airport leaving Texas, I will also be bawling knowing I'm leaving my family again. Eh, such is life. Soon the army days will be over! Until then, I'm going to try to enjoy Europe with the love of my life.
